new BDs episodes on nbc.com for now.

from eonline yesterday: The Black Donnellys: Did you catch it last night on NBC.com? Pretty fantastic for Internet-only content, right? It’s just too bad, but as far as we know, the Donnelly boys have been whacked. Getting relegated to the network Website certainly doesn't bode well. Even so, there’s no shame in keeping hope alive. Family Guy was dead and buried until its DVD sales and popular cable reruns convinced Fox to let it rise like a phoenix from the ashes. Two years after that momentous occurence, the way decisions are made in television continues to change. Because of avid Internet users like you and me, the public has more power than ever, and right now, your voice would be best heard by encouraging everyone you know to watch The Black Donnellys online. Strong numbers is what the suits need to see. That’s the language they speak, so if you adore this show, go ahead and give ‘em something to chat about.

More Friday Night Lights episodes ordered

At least they are keeping FNL around - I guess it has potential? The ratings are low, but it is award-winning! I really like this show and am happy it is coming back. I like the documentary feel, and it's more about small-town life than football (although you all know I love football). Maybe it needs a better time slot? I don't know - I'm not even sure when it is on. Tivo knows, though. The article also mentioned Medium (or as I have dubbed it - Large) and 30 Rock were given extensions too (I think that has been mentioned already).

What I Like About You

Is anyone watching this fantastic show on the CW? I have been watching it every afternoon while I recover from my uvulectomy. It was very painful, thanks for asking. My favorite part was when the doctor took the electro-laser & turned it on & then smoke poured out of my mouth.

Anyway, percoset + "What I Like About You" (with Amanda Bynes) is a good time.

is ANYONE following the news ratings race between the networks?

Katie Couric has been losing shares right and left. She hasn't even come close to Chuck or Brian since the first week she was on the air. Does this imply that television watchers don't want the dumbed-down version of the news? Or that television watchers that might relate to Katie's cheerleader charms don't participate in the nightly news ritual? My gut says the latter.

Broadcast Evening News Ratings Update: For the week of March 26, 2007, ABC's World News Tonight with Charles Gibson and NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams finished in a dead heat among A25-54 ratings, tho NBC pulled ahead in total viewers. The official results are:
  • NBC: 8.08 million total viewers; 2.0/9 A25-54
  • ABC: 7.93 million total viewers; 2.0/9 A25-54
  • CBS: 6.16 million total viewers; 1.5/7 A25-54

the cancellations continue

Fox, ABC and NBC all continue to cut shows short before they can develop a real following. Again, I ask, WHAT IS THE POINT OF A MIDSEASON REPLACEMENT?

  • Fox's Wedding Bells from David E. Kelley will air once more before being sidelined.
  • ABC's Six Degrees has seen it's final airing after it averaged a paltry 1.1 A18-49 rating when it returned to the primetime schedule a couple of weeks ago. Six Degrees will be replaced on Fridays at 9p with repeats of Wife Swap until National Bingo Night launches on May 18.
  • NBC's The Black Donnellys will air its last episode on April 16, running just 8 of the 13 episodes ordered. The Monday night 10p slot for NBC is being filled by The Real Wedding Crashers as of 4/23. During the six one-hour episodes, wedding couples team up with five improv comedy performers who try to "crash" the wedding any way they can as guests or wedding party staff. The series is produced by Katalyst Films and Television and New Line Television.
  • Notes from the Underbelly on ABC has been moved - rather than air following Grey's Anatomy on Thursdays at 10p, it's been moved to Wednesdays at 830p following According to Jim, after its premiere on Thursday 4/12 at 10p. Sliding back in on Thursdays at 10p for two additional weeks is October Road, airing 4/19 and 4/26.
  • The CW's Hidden Palms finally has a launch date - Wednesday, May 30 at 8p.
  • 7th Heaven on the CW will not be picked up for another season ... of course, you'll remember they said that about this little-show-that-could last year around this time. This show's series finale is scheduled for May 13 at 8p. This season 7th Heaven has averaged each week 3.4 million total viewers.
