Grease Finals

We're down to the final four. I am happy with the two women who are vying for the Sandy spot (I hope Laura wins), but the guys - it's iffy. While I admit, I like Austin - there is just something creepy about him. I think if he's surrounded by a cast and limited to just doing the show night after night, it won't be so creepy. Max - ugh, I just don't think I'd want to go and watch him in a show. He's not believable to me. Maybe as another member of the T-birds. I have to note, while watching last night, our friend Miranda noticed that when Max had to kiss Laura at the end of one song she clearly seemed to cringe when the moment came. That can't be good. Things like that may not be noticeable on a stage (as opposed to TV). We'll have to see what the results are next week!

BTW - anyone see Chris Rock's comments on the election on SNL? Hilarious!

The final four is so lame. When this show is set, I give it a month before they bring in a real cast with, omigosh, actual talent.

Max is a big eared dufus who, if he is lucky will be a bit player for his entire career. The guy is not leading man material, anyone can see it.

Austin is the souless entertainment machine who seems to take a paint by numbers approach to his life. Thin? Check! Chin implant? Check! Dance lessons? Check! Dude is practically a creature from the Disney vault.

As for the women, neither of them would have been cast as Sandy in an East Lyme High School production of Grease. They are one and the same. Incapable of being memorable, highly likely to produce claptrap. At least Wholesome Sandy had big boobs. But they got rid of her already.

Bottom line is this show has succeeded in identifying mediocre actors/singers who will have there requisite 15 minutes of crash and burn style fame and blissful fade to black.

Ha-ha, good comments - I think these people have talent. As I said, I don't really love the guys - so you may be right that they will be replaced eventually. They would all be really good support members at least. I would be willing to pay to see them. It was a smart idea (although, not a new one) to televise the search for the leads in order to generate a following and hype the show. Bottom line - it was an entertaining show for me.
